Focus Group
My focus group was comprised of 3 different girls, one 16, one 17, and one
18. I asked questions to gather information
about magazine preferences in the target audience, allowing me to tailor my own
magazine cover to these points.
I have comprised simpler questions to shorten my focus group
interview, keeping my answers relevant.
What musical genres do you listen to?
1.
Rock
2.
Pop
and Rap
3.
It
depends on what song, I have no preference.
Who are your favourite artists currently?
1.
The
Amity Affliction, Dream on Dreamer, Bullet for my valentine
2.
Jay-Z
and Drake or Cardi B
3.
Trending
artists and others such as Bruno Mars.
What would push you to buy a magazine if you saw one? Would
you be more likely to buy a magazine with one cover star or multiple?
1.
If
it had an artist I like on the cover, and a good mixture of content, such as a
Q&A section. I also love relatable stories. One person rather than multiple
would attract me to the magazine more.
2.
Only
one person is more effective on a front cover. I prefer gossip and scandal
stories in my opinion and stuff keeping me up to date with the latest news.
3.
Lighter
colours on the front. A wider range of information included.
What type of magazine do you think people your age would be
into?
1.
It
really depends on what the individual is into. At this age, I find that we tend
to spiral into our own unique love for different music, colour, style, etc.
2.
Mostly
stuff keeping them up to date. With the internet access it would need to give
them a reason to actually purchase something physical.
3.
It
should stand out. Something different, that would make them want to know more.
